AMMBAN PARTNERS CAC TO FORMALISE MEMBERS’ BUSINESSES

The Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) has partnered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to formalize more unregistered businesses, supporting financial inclusion across the country.

During a meeting in Abuja, AMMBAN’s Acting National President, Dr. Obioha Oti, acknowledged past communication gaps that excluded members from previous formalization initiatives but assured that these issues are being resolved. The association highlighted its role in advancing the Federal Government’s financial inclusion policy and emphasized the importance of registering its over 250,000 members to enhance their legitimacy and growth.

To facilitate this process, AMMBAN requested discounted registration fees to make formalization more accessible for its members, many of whom are critical to expanding cashless transactions and e-payments at the grassroots level.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s mobile money ecosystem and supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
